You have moved on to the top of the path and are now standing on the brick arches at the top.   You are looking up the ditch that leads down from the  Archcliffe Gate.   This ditch is now partially filled and  Archcliffe Gate is long gone.   The section of ditch that remains is overgrown with trees and the revetment wall (only one side is reveted here), is in a bad way.   Opposite you is a doorway into the tunnel section which although has been bricked up you should be able to see the small black hole in the middle where the bricks have been punched out.  About 6 feet in front of the doorway is a large concrete block with steps going up it.  This was the rest for the mini-drawbridge that led into the tunnel.  Click on the picture to stand on the drawbridge rest and look back at where you're standing.
